Behind the Timber Walls

Detail of "Welcome " 36 x 48 In (91.5 x 122 cm )
Acrylic on canvas

A preview of one of my works based on the theme of ethnic maidens.
Clad in their best traditional costumes, the Tatana Tuaran maidens greet visitors warmly and cheerfully during the Kaamatan, the Harvest Festival celebrated in the month of May, in Sabah Borneo.
I am fascinated by their natural beauty, and the soft, rounded facial features as if molded from the earth.
There are many indigenous group of people in Borneo, providing a rich cultural source of reference that could last for a long long time.
So I keep on painting..
